Robert Guidone Obituary
Robert John Guidone, age 83, passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 5th, 2020 in Newport Richey Florida in hospice care after a long illness. Bob was born in New Haven, Connecticut on September 13th, 1936. Son of the late Alphonse George Guidone and Concetta Cordone Guidone Bonessi. Stepson of Carmel Salzo Guidone. Bob was a long-time resident of Northford, CT before retiring to Florida. Bob got his start in sales at a young age selling shoes, then cars at the former Cooley Chevrolet. He retired as a realtor and owner of Beazley Company. He was a member of the Northford planning and zoning committee. He enjoyed life to its fullest and had many hobbies including fishing, hunting, golfing, shooting, and motorcycles. He also loved boating and flying and held a Captain's and pilot 's license. He was also a Free Mason. Bob was truly a family man, and they meant everything to him. Besides his only cherished daughter, Nicole Mary Guidone Gionet (Leonard) who lovingly cared for him, he leaves behind his two grandchildren Jeffrey (Olivia) Gionet and Ashley (Brandon) Sage. He also leaves behind two Great Grandchildren, Damian Sage and Jace Gionet all of whom brightened his life. He leaves behind his only niece Gina (Roy) Agnello and four nephews, Wayne (Sonia) Guidone, Douglas Guidone, Gregg (Ruth) Guidone, and Marc Guidone all East Haven, CT who he meant the world to. Also, several great nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. He was predeceased by his first wife Theresa Maturo Guidone, his three brothers, Alphonse, Mario, and Richard, his two sister- in- laws Marie and Josephine Guidone and two nephews Gary and Alan Guidone. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
A mass celebrating his life will be held Saturday October 10th, 2020 at 12pm at St. Vincent de Paul church, 80 Taylor Ave East Haven. CT.
Private interment will be held by the family at a later date

It´s always so hard as the holidays near thinking and missing you all so much!! I´m doing my best to keep the traditions going and having us all together around the table. We miss you all so much and always talk about those days gone by when we were all together. It just will never be the same. Love you and miss you so dearly ! Forever in my heart xo

Didn't sleep much last night, knowing today I'd have to say good-bye to you. I just want you to know I have honored all your wishes. I'm so happy we had the chance to be together and for you to know the "story". I would never hurt you,but I'm glad I got to tell you what as your Niece, I felt I needed to. No more pain, no more hurt. Thank you for listening and understanding. Like you said, "family takes care of each other" especially..Guidone's. So, my beloved Uncle, today we will celebrate you, drink the best Scotch and reminisce of the wonderful family years. Look at many pictures and tell some great stories. You can truly REST IN PEACE. You are where you wanted to be, with who and Nicole and I will always have you near us. The "family" table now complete. All "The Guidone men front and center. I will now close the "last chapter " of your book, as you so requested. We will all miss you and forever love you. Till we meet again.

I will miss Bobby very much. He and his wife, Betty, were like family to me. I thank him for being a great friend to my dad even though they bickered but was always in good fun. I will always remember his witty sense of humor, right till the last time I saw him. He will be truly missed. Soar with the angels, Bobby.
Sorry for your loss, Terri and Rick. He and Betty are reunited.

Bob was a loving stepdad, grandfather and friend to all who knew him. He was a devoted husband to his wife Betty and they spent 28 happy years together until she passed. My husband and I considered them our dearest friends. You are missed Bob.

We miss dear Bobby!
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 28 years Elizabeth (Betty Irwin) Guidone. He worked at New Port Richey Lincoln Mercury while living in FL. He was past member of Gulf Harbors Yacht Club. He leaves behind his loving stepfamily that he considered his own children Terri and Bob Mehmet of Naples, FL, Bill and Patti Irwin of Berthoud, CO and Rick Irwin of Cromwell, CT. He also leaves his loving grandchildren Kevin (Melissa) and Kyle (Jennie) Yarkosky and Don (Amanda) and Rick (Laura) Irwin as well as six great grandchildren and many close friends at Heather Cove.
