ROBERT HIRSCHFELD

1935 - 2014

HIRSCHFELD, ROBERT C. Robert C. Hirschfeld of 330 Sir Walter Drive, Cheshire, husband of Marie Hirschfeld and father of Rev. A. Robert Hirschfeld, Michael G. Hirschfeld and the late Robin Williams passed away on September 1, 2014. Born on March 28, 1935 in Boston, Bob grew up in Franklin, Wrentham and Watertown, Massachusetts. In his youth, Bob achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts and enjoyed playing football. He was a proud member of Watertown High School’s 1952 undefeated football team which was inducted into Watertown High School’s Hall of Fame. Bob continued to play football at the University of New Hampshire from which he graduated in 1957 with a BS in business. Following college, Bob was commissioned as a First Lieutenant in the US Army and served in Korea. Bob’s career was devoted to sales and marketing. For 23 years he worked for the International Silver Company of Meriden, CT and he was Vice President of Swiss Army Knives of America for 10 years. Bob also worked as a sales and marketing consultant. Along with his wife Marie and sons Robert and Michael, Bob leaves behind six grandchildren Sam Kendall and William, Cora, Henry, Gustav and Hannah Hirschfeld. Bob is also survived by his sister Marjory Nelson, his daughters-in-law Polly and Liesbeth, his brother and sister in-law, Glenn and Sylvia Gifford, as well several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Cheshire at 11:30am on Saturday, October 4, 2014.
