Marino, Sr., Robert P.
Robert P. Marino Sr., age 80, of Cheshire entered into rest peacefully on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at his home. Bob was born on July 2, 1938 in New Haven, son of the late James and Marie (Caporale) Marino. He was the devoted husband of Gayle (Rueb) Marino for 58 years. They enjoyed many years together traveling, spending time in Naples, Florida, among many other destinations. Most of all, they most loved just being in each other's company.
Starting from an early period in his life Bob fell in love with selling, which lead him to be the owner and operator of Aftermarket Specialty Co. in Cheshire CT. for over 50 years. His impact on new car dealerships started back in the 1960's and continues to this day with some customers and friends lasting over 30 years. Later in life Bob liked nothing more than visiting Dealers just to chat and share a cup of coffee. Bob was a proud board member of the Connecticut Car Association (CAR). A devout Catholic, He gave back by becoming a Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Waterbury.
Nothing made him happier than to be in the company if those he loved most. In addition to his wife, Gayle of Cheshire, Bob is survived by his loving children; Fred Marino and his wife, Wendy of Cheshire; Cathy Marino of Cheshire. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren; Deana, Adam, Robbie, Kelly, Alyssa, Gretchen, Brandon, Hope, Emily, and Allison. He was predeceased by his son, Robert Marino Jr (Bobby Jr).
Bob loved the most recent gift, to be able to spend time with his great-grandchildren, Louis Robert and Cameron Roy. He also leaves behind his sibling, Dorothy (Marino) Wilson, and several nieces and nephews, and was predeceased by his brother, James Marino.
His family gathered for a private burial at St. Bridget Cemetery in Cheshire Connecticut on Saturday morning July 7.

Uncle Bob always had a good joke. Our whole family was self employed. I remember at Uncle Jimmys service I told him business was bad for me and I was going to have to go to work for someone. He said don't do that, you'll kill people. It's not in our blood.
