Bob worked at Secondi's until he retired as the general manager at age 60. The majority of his career was spent working the night shift, where he was affectionately known as "Red". He will be remembered as a gentle, humble man, who enjoyed every day. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved a good joke. He cherished his family, his many friends and his loving wife Barbara. He was known and loved by many as an amazing friend, a great dad, a wonderful grandfather, and had the privilege of being a great-grandfather. He was a dependable guy. who would do anything for anyone, without looking for credit or for anything in return. Bob was very social and enjoyed life to the fullest. Among his many interests were golf, bowling, Pinochle, going to the casino, and Friday night was always reserved for cocktail hour with his wife and friends. Bob was a huge sports fan. He loved and rooted for the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. His favorite sports teams, though, were the ones on which his children and grandchildren played. He sometimes traveled many miles to root for them. He was their biggest fan. Bob was an avid golfer. In addition to his golf league and numerous golf tournaments, he played every Wednesday with his good friends. They often played at different golf courses throughout the state. The perfect ending to a great day of golf was sharing time with them back at the 19th hole, "The Shack". Bob was a long-time parishioner of St. Mary Church, where he was an usher at 10:00 Mass every Sunday, for over fifty years. His family would like to thank the doctors and staff at the Trumbull Smilow Care Center and Hospice Home Care Plus for the compassionate care they provided.
