Valentine (Tooky) Tamulevich, 96, of Branford, died peacefully at Connecticut Hospice on Sunday, August 13, 2023. He was predeceased by his wife, Marguerite (Peggy) Tamulevich, brother, Theodore T. Tamulevich, and parents, Valentine and Anastasia Tamulevich. Tooky is survived by his daughter, Mary K. Lasko, grandsons, Stephen Perkins, Robert Lasko (Nicole), Joseph Lasko, and John Lasko, and four great-grandchildren.
Tooky proudly served 81 years as a volunteer firefighter and an active member with M.P. Rice Company No. 2 and as a veteran of the Merchant Marines during WWII. As a retiree of the CT Department of Transportation, and with a great eye for stonework, Tooky spent many years working in masonry and caring for cottages along the Branford Shoreline. A kind and caring man, Tooky was always ready with a joke and a smile. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A funeral mass will be held at John Bosco Church in Branford on August 24 at 10:30 a.m. with burial to follow at St. Agnes Cemetery. A remembrance will follow at Meadow Restaurant (Eel Pot) in Branford.
