Ann Hecht Obituary

STILLWATER - Ann Langlois Hecht, 88, of Stillwater, died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015, at Newton Medical Center.
Born in Seattle, Wash., Ann was raised in Seattle and came to New York City as a war bride in 1946. After living in The Bronx, she lived in Edison from 1956 until moving to Andover Township in 1963, then moved to Stillwater in 1981.
Ann was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church of Newton, where she was past president of the women's guild and the altar guild and taught Sunday School. A Cub Scout den leader, Ann was also past president of the Newton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Friends of Hospice (Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice) and Church World United.
The daughter of the late Earl and Dola Samaria (Jones) Langlois, Ann was also predeceased by a sister, Ruth Perkins; and two brothers, James Earl Langlois and Jack Langlois. She is survived by her husband, Raymond A. Hecht, whom she married on Dec. 4, 1943; one son, William E. Hecht and wife, Nancee; one daughter, Janet E. Hecht; one sister, Earldeane MacKenzie and husband, Russell; two grandchildren, Elise K. Page and husband, Asa, and David J. Hecht and wife, Lori; one brother, Howard Langlois and wife, June; four great-grandchildren, Ben, Wesley, Lilly and Phillip; and 17 nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 37 Newton-Sparta Road, Newton.
Memorial donations may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church, 37 Newton-Sparta Road, Newton, 07860 or SCARC, 11 Route 206, Augusta, 07822.
