Frank Sutton Obituary

WAYNESBORO, Va. - Frank Davis Sutton, 78, of Waynesboro, Va., passed away Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at Augusta Health. He was born in Ridgewood, N.J., on March 11, 1935, son of the late Frank and Jennie Sutton.

Frank was currently volunteering at Augusta Health and at the Augusta County Public Library. Frank had been a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity in the Waynesboro area for many years. He also had been an active volunteer fireman for more than 30 years in New Jersey. Frank also had served in the National Guard.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Sutton; and his daughter, Patricia Sutton. Frank is survived by his son, Frank Sutton, his daughter, Susan Dunn and her husband, all of Branchville N.J.; his stepchildren, Glenn Davis and his wife, of Churubusco, Ind.; Wayne Davis and his wife of Mesa, Ariz.; his brother, Bob and his wife, of Chapel Hill, N.C. Frank also is survived by eight grandchildren, as well as two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High St., Hackettstown, N.J. Funeral services will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Kim Webster officiating. Interment will be at Union Cemetery, Hackettstown. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Newton Fire Museum, 150 Spring St., Newton NJ, 07860; Waynesboro Volunteer First Aid Crew, 201 W. Broad St., Waynesboro VA 22980; or the Staunton, Augusta, Waynesboro Habitat for Humanity, PO Box 3188, Staunton, VA 24402-3188.
