Gary Arvary Obituary
Gary John Arvary, age 68, died after a long battle with cancer on 21 April, 2021.
He is survived by Carol, his wife of 42 years, four children, Rebecca, Emily, David and Paul, his mother Emilia, brother Drew and two grandchildren, Macklin and Mia.
He was born in Paterson, and raised in Wallington, NJ. After graduating from Rutgers College and the College of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ, Gary settled in Blairstown, NJ where he was a Family Physician fo 35 years until retiring in 2018.
Gary was a compassionate man who tried to provide the best care for his patients. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will always be remembered as a good man who was devoted to his family and many others. He will be greatly missed.
A private memorial will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 7 Ridgedale Avenue, Cedar Knolls, NJ 07927. Arrangements are under the direction of Newbaker Funeral Home, 200 Route 94, Blairstown, NJ 07825.

My deepest sympathies to Carol and family. I was a patient of Dr. Arvary's for 20 plus years. He was a wonderful Doctor, but also a kind man. I loved his subtle humor and deep booming laugh.

I worked with Dr Arvary when he was the Medical Director at the Sussex County Homestead and I was the consultant Dietitian and later became the Food Service Director. When he left, I followed him as our Family Physician. We have been friends for over 50 years and found him the most caring, compassionate and excellent physician. Prior to his retirement, we begun to share our experience, both of us fighting cancer. He was the one who diagnosed me 5 years ago and his support and caring manner not just our doctor but an old friend. May you now Rest In Peace our dear doctor and friend.

Our family is so very sorry to hear the news about Dr. Avary’s passing. He was our family doctor to my husband and I and our two boys for 16 plus years and under his care we all felt so much comfort knowing he was taking care of us. He was a class act and a great doctor. He will be missed. May he RIP.

Dr. Arvary was our family doctor from the beginning of his practice in blairstown. Actually he met my premature twin girls while he worked at the well baby clinic and began caring for one of them especially who was very high risk due to a birth defect.
Dr. Arvary was so kind, witty, and excellent diagnostician.
I missed him when he retired and am deeply saddened by his passing.
My sincere condolences to the Arvary family.
