Josephine Lutz Obituary

SUSSEX - Josephine D. Lutz, 70, passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at St. Clare's Hospital in Sussex.

Born in Morristown, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Helen DelGrosso. Mrs. Lutz had lived in Boonton before moving to Sussex County, where she lived for most of her life. She was a parishioner of St. Monica R.C. Church in Sussex served as the Sussex Borough Democratic Committeewoman and the Sussex County Democratic Party Committeewoman, and was a member of the Sussex Women's Club, the League of Women Voters, and the Friends of the Library Book Club. She was also an avid reader, having enjoyed creative writing, and was a member of a local writers group. Mrs. Lutz had previously worked at the Sussex County Election Board and for the Sussex County Library System, and was a substitute teacher in various Sussex County school systems.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Ronald F. French Sr.; her stepmother, Jane DelGrosso; and her brother, Matthew DelGrosso.

Mrs. Lutz is survived by her husband of 45 years, Kenneth; her son, Ronald French and his wife, Arlene, of Lake Ariel, Pa.; her daughter, Laura Barber and her husband, Chris, of Branchville; two sisters, Luette Guilmette of Stanhope and Jane DelGrosso of New Jersey; and her two grandchildren, Ronnie and Kenny French.

The funeral services will be held on Friday, May 30, 2008, at 9:30 a.m. from Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank St. (Route 23), Sussex, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Monica R.C. Church, 33 Unionville Ave., Sussex. Interment is at Clove Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects to the family on Thursday, May 29, 2008, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., at the funeral home.
