Kevin A. Hendrickson

1963 - 2016

WANTAGE - Kevin A. Hendrickson, age 52, unexpectedly passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2016.
Born in Erie, Pa., Kevin grew up in Ringwood and attended the University of Pittsburgh before moving to Sussex County. He was a self-employed carpenter who loved spending time with his family and grandkids.
Kevin's passions included fishing, camping and golfing. He took great pride in beating his brothers and father regularly on the links, especially with his iron play. Not only was he an excellent student, he was also a National Honor Society inductee and received an academic scholarship to Pitt. Some of Kevin's fondest memories involved fishing at Cupsaw Lake and the Ramapo River, camping at Round Valley with his wife, and contributing defensively to the Lakeland Lancer football team that came up one win short of a perfect season and almost won the New Jersey state title in 1981. He was a true outdoorsman and a consummate family man; he will be deeply missed by all who knew his genuine and caring heart.
He was predeceased by his mother, Sadie (Megat) Hendrickson.
Kevin is survived by his beloved wife, Kristine, and her children, Taylor Kapetanakis, of Wantage, Cody Kapetanakis, of Vernon, and Dayna Alfaro and her children, Liam and Liliana, of Hamburg; his father, William Hendrickson, of Jacksonville, Fla.; his brothers, Will Hendrickson, of Vernon, Greg Hendrickson, of Upper Saddle River, and Eric Hendrickson, of Orlando, Fla.; and his sister, Julie Pufko and her children, John Pufko, Joseph Pufko, Brenna Pufko and her daughter, Collette, of Phoenixville, Pa.
Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, March 14, at the Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank St., Sussex. Friends may pay their respects to the family from 4 to 7 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home.
