Theodore "Ted" Piekarski

CAVE CREEK, Ariz. - Theodore "Ted" Piekarski, 81, of Cave Creek, Ariz., originally from Byram, passed away on Feb. 15, at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Ariz.
He was the husband of Mary (Massar). They shared 60 years of marriage together. Born in East Paterson, he was the son of Vincent and Alice Piekarski. He graduated from Paterson Vocational Technical School. He was employed as a mechanic and service manager at several car dealerships, including Brogran Cadillac.
In his earlier years, Ted was a member of the circus and was an acclaimed tightrope performer. He was a member of Saint Gabriel's Catholic Church in Cave Creek, Ariz. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating and target shooting. He was a life member of the NRA. He was also a member of several rifle and gun clubs both in New Jersey and Arizona. He will be remembered for spending time sharing boating and fishing with his children at their lakefront home on Lake Lackawanna.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; sons, Mark Piekarski and his wife, Patty, of Grand Rapids, Mich., Tim Piekarski and wife, Laura, of Charlotte, N.C., Brian Piekarski and wife, Jennifer, of Weston, Conn.; daughters, Wendy Piekarski, of Montague, and Cindy Rome and husband, Virgil, of Fredon. He is also survived and will be missed by grandchildren, Lacie, Lucas, Miranda and Elizabeth Piekarski. He was predeceased by a sister, Stella Przybyla. He is also survived by brother, Anthony Martone and wife, Nancy, of Pequannock; sister, Mary Ann and husband, George Maloney, of Cape May; brother, Vincent Piekarski Jr. and wife, Barbara, of Conover, N.C.; as well as many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., on Tuesday, Feb. 20, at Saint Bernadette's Roman Catholic Church in Scottsdale, Ariz. Viewing and visitation will be private for the family. Cremation will follow. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the YMCA of Paterson to help unfortunate and needy children.
