William Coleman Obituary

FRANKLIN -- William Armstrong Coleman, 78, passed away at the VA Hospital in Lyons on Sunday, Aug. 30, 2009, after a long illness.

He served in the Army during the Korean War; was an administrator at West Milford; a teacher at Sussex County Technical School in Sparta; owner and operator of Squire Coleman's Charcoal Grill Restaurant in Newton; and retired as a kitchen design salesman.

Bill is survived by his wife, Linda Coleman of Stanhope; his brother, Joseph Coleman of Sunapee, N.H.; his three children, Patricia Brian of Pekin, Ill., Phillip Coleman and his wife, Christine, of Newton, and Glenn Coleman of Newport, N.C.; his step-daughter, Bonnie Gill and her husband, Todd, of Selkirk, N.Y.; and nine grandchildren, Jessica Bryan of Greensboro, N.C., Colleen Mathias and her husband, Matthew, of Peoria, Ill., Ty Bryan and Teyawna of Winston Salem, N.C., Jaclyn and Joseph Coleman of Newton, Craig Coleman of Lelang, N.C., Aimee Coleman of Winnabow, N.C. and Tyler and Alyssa Bentley of Selkirk. Bill was also the proud great-grandfather of Addison Mathias of Peoria and Amyrr Bryan of Winston Salem.

A memorial service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church, 369 Sand Shore Road, Budd Lake, on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations made in his memory may be made to Christ Episcopal Church in Budd Lake, or the Parkinson's Foundation.
