Mrs. Bettyle (Burchak) Adams October 25, 1941 - June 23, 2025 Bettyle (Buchak) Adams passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on June 23, 2025, with her devoted husband Floyd by her side. She was born on October 25, 1941, in Ellensburg, Washington, and was raised on a farm in Nelson Siding. She graduated from Cle Elum High School and attended Central Washington State College.
On December 16, 1961, Bettyle married the love of her life, Floyd Adams. Together, they built a beautiful family that includes three daughters, seven grandchildren, and one great-grandson-all of whom were the joy of her life. She cherished every moment spent with them.
A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Bettyle was also a gracious homemaker and hostess. With a timeless grace and elegance, she taught her grandchildren about farm life and the art of heritage cooking. She delighted in creating family traditions that became cherished memories-like the annual Easter egg hunts with clothes and shoes hanging from the trees, and teaching her grandchildren how to make the beloved Croatian "povitica" roll. Cooking was her passion, and she had a remarkable talent for feeding and dazzling a crowd.
Bettyle loved the outdoors and treasured her time at their ranch in Nelson Siding. She found joy in ballroom dancing, swimming, hiking, playing the piano and accordion, and traveling. Professionally, she served in various administrative roles, including at Snokist, Yakima Valley College's Adult Education Center, and John I. Haas.
Bettyle and Floyd traveled to Europe twice, and took a 30-day road trip across 17 U.S. states, and several visits to the East Coast. Bettyle also visited Hong Kong, southern China, and Mexico.
Deeply engaged in her community, Bettyle was a longtime member of the U.S. Amateur Ballroom Dancing Association-serving as Vice President, Board Member, and Secretary-and was involved with the Alice Miller Hospital Guild, Sweet Adelines, and St. Paul's Cathedral. She also volunteered with the Yakima Visitors Bureau and Pacific Northwest Medical University.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Floyd, and their daughters: Kristen (James) Goss of Renton; Connie (Tim) Blevins of Edmonds; and Stephanie (Harry) Waterman of Ellensburg. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren-Lauren, Shannon, Cole, Taylor, Autumn, Tiffany, and Natalie-and great-grandson Charlie. Also surviving are her brother, Denny (Diane) Burchak of Cle Elum, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
