John P. Henkel

John P. Henkel October 8, 1931 - December 8, 2021 John was born to George (Friday) and Gladys Henkel in East Wenatchee. He left high school in 1949 to join the U S Coast Guard. Upon discharge in 1952, he married Peggy A Rumohr. He held numerous jobs before joining Kent Fire Department. He joined as a volunteer in August 1965. He was one of the first paid groups of the Kent Fire Department. He retired in September 1984 on disability. He had 3 daughters, 3 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren. He has 2 brothers and 4 sisters. He was with Donna Henkel in 1995 and married in 2008. He has 2 stepson and 1 stepdaughter, 5 stepgrandchildren, 3 step great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents. There was to be no services per his request.
