I am sending my sincere condolences to Richard´s wife & family. Richard (we called him "Rich") & I shared the same grandparents, the same aunts & uncles-we are 1st cousins. Although he was older, we pretty much grew up together & shared a lifetime of experiences. His sister Betty got me a job at the hospital, during my 1st year of college & was a longtime friend. Rich & his brother-in-law Dick Watts taught me how to hunt deer & pheasants. Later, he & our wives spent several years vacationing together in Waikiki, HI. I will miss him & being able to reminisce with him about our many adventures; but I am happy he has finally been released from the terrible bonds of Alzheimer's. R. I. P. Rich-I hope to see you again on the other side.

We were sorry and sad to hear of Dick's passing. We have nothing but great memories of Dick as we did business with MidState for many years where we were always treated as valued customers. It was this good treatment that led to our friendship.
In our opinion based on our business relationship with him, Dick was the best business man in Ellensburg.
I am happy that I got to talk to Dick on the phone a little over a year ago. We did some serious reminiscing and it was wonderful to hear his voice.
Our condolence goes out to his family and want you to know we share your grief.

Dick Potter and his wife were our next door neighbors in Ellensburg, Washington for the last seventeen years, until they moved away. They were the best neighbors a person could ask for. He was in his eighties when we moved in, and he was remarkably full of energy then, and for most of the years thereafter. He was either the first or second person to move into our neighborhood back in the early seventies when the homes were new construction, and was knowledgeable about nearly everything. He was friendly, helpful, and always had a good idea about how to troubleshoot something. He grew an impressive garden nearly until the end, and shared the fabulous bounty generously. We were sad to see the Potters move away because they were such good neighbors. He was much loved and his life was well lived. He is greatly missed. May he be welcomed with the faithful in heaven.

Dick Potter was a gem! He worked for me until he turned 90, at Yakima River RV Park and on Four Seasons Ranch. He began when I was widowed and desperately needing help. I found him to be reliable, honest, ambitious, and could accomplish everything asked of him. When Randy and I married I assured Dick we still needed him, but when the business grew, he found out work-camping couples would also be assisting us. He was concerned he would be out of work but he soon realized that wasn't the case and all was good. He had high ethics and a good sense of humor. We loved Dick and were blessed to have known him and worked together side-by-side at times. We are having a Holy Mass said for Dick at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in the next few weeks. He was one very good man!
