Kathleen Marie (Lemon) Plouse June 20, 1942 - June 26, 2025 Kathleen Marie (Lemon) Plouse, aged 83, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2025, in Burien, Washington, attended by her daughters. Born on June 20, 1942, in Yakima, Washington, to Charles "Chuck" and Dorothy Lemon, Kathy was known for her compassion, warmth, and unwavering dedication to her family. At the age of six, Kathy's family moved from Okanogan to Roslyn, Washington.
She graduated from Cle Elum High School in 1960 and married Gwilym "Smoky" Plouse in 1961. Kathy and Smoky established their home in Easton, Washington, where they raised three children: Kevin, Tracy, and Leslie Plouse. Their household was filled with love and laughter. She created magical Christmas memories for the family and was always present for recitals, sporting games, and school events her children participated in. Later in life, Kathy and Smoky were joyfully reunited with their first-born, Lawrence Price.
Kathy retired after over 15 years of dedicated service as the school lunch program manager and cook at Easton School. She took great pride in providing nutritious meals to students and faculty and serving the Easton community. After retiring from Easton School, Kathy worked as a personal caregiver before permanently retiring to spend more time with her family.
An avid reader, Kathy also enjoyed traveling, particularly going on cruises with her daughters and girlfriends. She cherished spending time with her family and often recounted stories of her early life in Okanogan with her aunts, uncles and grandmother.
Kathy is survived by her husband of 64 years, Smoky; her four children and their spouses: Lawrence (Jane) Price, Kevin (Traci Jones) Plouse, Tracy Plouse, and Leslie (Andrew Weiss) Plouse; four grandsons: Austin and Ryan Plouse, Carey Tate, and Cory Nixon; her sisters: Linda (Jerry) Childs and Kim Rabine; her brother-in-law, Danny Plouse; nieces and a nephew; and many other family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Chuck and Dorothy Lemon. Kathy's life will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and dedication to her family.
No services are planned at this time. Per Kathy's wishes, her daughters will take her ashes on one final cruise to Belize. If you wish to honor her memory, you may make a donation to the
American Cancer Society in her name.
