Peggy Barker Obituary
Peggy was born July 1, 1953, in Winslow, Washington, to Billie & Millie (Sims) Barr. In 1958, she moved with her family to Cle Elum, Washington, where she grew up and graduated from Cle Elum High School in 1971. Shortly after graduation Peggy enlisted in the U.S. Air Force.
Peggy's military career would span 20 years, with duty stations that included Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Germany, Oklahoma and finally in Colorado where she retired with the rank of Senior Master Sargent in 1994.
After leaving the Air Force, Peggy moved to Boise, Idaho, where she worked in sales of a telecommunication service for Time Warner from 1999 until fully retiring in 2012.
In June 2019, Peggy moved to Sequim, Washington, where she enjoyed living in the banana belt of the Olympic Peninsula. She embraced new technology, was a wonderful cook, loved to garden, play cards and games and was an avid reader.
Peggy always had a quick wit and a great laugh; she'll be dearly missed.
She is survived by her sisters, Sandra Roseburg of Green Valley, AZ and Susie Wallace of Lincoln, MT; brothers Bill (Diane) Barr of Roslyn, WA and Brad (Dotty) Barr of Sequim, WA; daughter Lisa Barker of Las Vegas, NV and her two grandsons, Tyler Barker of Baltimore, MD and Gage Gafford of Gig Harbor, WA; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by both parents and her sister Bobby Lynn (Barr) Hodge.
At Peggy's request there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Sequim Food Bank.
The family would like to thank the wonderful and caring staff of Avamere Olympic Rehabilitation of Sequim and Assured Hospice in Sequim, Washington.
