My mom was the most amazing person. Beautiful, intelligent, funny, compassionate, and someone that never gave up on me despite how much I deserved it. I miss her everyday and the world is definitely less without her love and spirit.

As a fellow IU School of Library and Information Science student, I remember being struck by Eileen's deep dedication to librarianship. Thank you to her family for sharing her with the Cincinnati library community over all these too-few years.

How sad to learn of the sudden passing of this wonderful Irish Lassie. My heart aches for you, Pat, Maeve and Ciaran and grandchildren. Let this be a message to all that we must live well and kindly because we know not what tomorrow brings. Much love to all of you. I will miss you at the St. Patrick's Day parade, Eileen... I first met Eileen when we were graduate students at IU, Bloomington. From the first meeting, it was evident that "Leen" was going to be a dedicated professional with a passion for her community and work. Over the years we have kept in touch and it was great to re-connect when I moved to Cincinnati. We volunteered together at Books by the Banks. She never seemed to age, always had a smile, loved her work and was such a dedicated mother and grandmother. I have since moved to Tacoma, but kept in touch through photos and posts . My heartfelt condolences to your family. Leen was a role model as a librarian and a kind and generous friend. It was a privilege to know her.

God bless Eileen. She was so smart, a great neighbor to us at the theater when she was head of the Covedale Library. I'm shocked and saddened to hear of her passing. My deep sympathy to all of her family.

I was so very sad to hear of Eileen's passing. Her father was my pediatrician and I knew her my entire childhood through her work at the Mt. Healthy library. I also had the pleasure to work with her briefly at the Covedale branch. Eileen and her family are in my thoughts and prayers.
