Irma Gentrup Obituary



GENTRUP

Irma C. Braun Gentrup, 89, formerly of Bellevue, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2013 at Carmel Manor Nursing Home Fort Thomas, KY. She was a graduate of Colerain H.S. and Deaconess Nursing School in Cincinnati. She was a Registered Nurse during World War II. After the war, she was married to William L. Gentrup of Bellevue for 62 years. She also worked as a clerical employee at the I.R.S., Covington, KY. She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish and a member of the Sacred Heart Church Mother's Club. She also belonged to the Bellevue Vets' Ladies Auxiliary, was a member of the Newport Central Catholic Boosters and served as a poll worker during elections. Irma was born October 31, 1923 in Cincinnati, OH to Martin Braun and Anna Hasselwander Braun along with 14 brothers and sisters. She was preceded in death by her Husband, William L. Gentrup. Irma is survived by her Sons, Michael (Toni) Gentrup of Southlake, TX; William F. Gentrup of Tempe, AZ; and Gary (Colette) Gentrup of Bellevue, KY; a Daughter, Cathy (Harry) Cline of Hebron, KY; her Brother, Donald Braun of Warren, MI and Sister, Carol Kist of College Corner, OH; 7 Grandchildren and 24 Great Grandchildren. Memorial Mass will be held 5:30 pm Friday, February 8, 2013, at the Divine Mercy Parish, Bellevue, Kentucky. with a reception following mass at Charity Hall 312 Poplar St. Bellevue, KY. Memorials are suggested to the Carmel Manor Nursing Home 100 Carmel Manor Rd. Fort Thomas, KY 41075 or Divine Mercy Parish 318 Division Street Bellevue, KY 41073. Love you Grandma, thanks so much for all you've done. I couldn't have asked for anyone better. Goes for Grandpa and Aunt Mae as well. Wow, I feel like the luckiest grandson ever! I bet you three are playing cards right now in Heaven.
