Joseph Brocato Obituary

BROCATO Joseph P. Brocato, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at his home. Beloved husband of the late Audrey Frick Brocato. Father of Brenda B. Vincens and husband Danny, Brian J. Brocato and wife Adrienne and Barry E. Brocato and his late wife Zada. Son of the late Salvatore and Josephine Kimble Brocato. Brother of Antoinette Thibodaux, and the late Salvatore Brocato, Josephine Carboni, Santo Brocato, Theresa Reese and Chris Brocato. Also survived by 6 grandchildren; Angela Hoffer, Stephanie Vincens, Brandon Brocato, Danny Vincens, Jr., Jennifer Diecidue, and Natalie Brocato; 4 great grandchildren, Emma Hoffer, Carter Diecidue, Bryson Keith and soon to be Camille Diecidue; and numerous nieces, nephews and many loving friends. Age 85 years; a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Slidell since 1994, Mr. Brocato served his country in the U.S. Navy and retired as a Maintenance Engineer for Amoco Petroleum. He was a parishioner of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church and volunteered with Slidell Memorial Hospice after the death of his wife. The family would like to thank Lakeshore Hospice for the love and care they provided to their father. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral mass at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 11:00am. Visitation will be from 9:00am until 11:00am. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, New Orleans, LA. In lieu of flowers, masses are preferred. I was privileged to work with Joe when he was at Amoco. He was a true gentle man and never lost his "cool" with all the foolishness around us there. He loved Audrey and his family deeply and there is comfort in knowing he is with her now.

I will always remember my Uncle Joe..His special way of making all the kids feel part of all Christmas events and holidays. His sweet voice and teasing manner will be missed greatly.I will miss you. My condolences to the family. I apologize for not being able to attend his funeral.
