Patsy Jo Spangler Wagner, 87, of Independence, went to be with the Lord Thursday, March 24, 2016 at her home. She was born and raised in Jonesville, VA. Patsy attended Union College, Villa Madonna College and received her Master's Degree from NKU. For 30 years she was a first grade teacher at Kenton Elementary School and was a member of Brucewood Church then Lakeside Presbyterian Church. Preceded in death by her husband Randall S. Wagner; son Stephen Wagner, and brother Jack Spangler. Survivors include sons Gary (Glenda) Wagner of Louisville and Tim (Margaret) Wagner of Lexington; daughter in-law Renee Wagner of Southern, CA; sisters Jean Sadler of Buchanan, MI and Mildred Sekan of Naples, FL, and Aunt Jett Croy of Moultrie, Georgia, also 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Visitation 4-8 PM Monday, March 28, at SWINDLER & CURRIN FUNERAL HOME-INDEPENDENCE and funeral 1:30 PM Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Lakeside Presbyterian Church,2690 Dixie Highway. Interment Independence Cemetery. I am sorry to learn of Patsy's death. Aunt Jett called me. I have many memories of her going to school at Jonesville High, though she was in a higher grade than I.

Patsy was such a beautiful, sweet, caring person who went out of her way to make everyone feel special. She was my substitute back in 1991 at Kenton Elementary when I had my daughter, and I had the privilege of teaching 4 of her great-grandchildren in kindergarten. I am blessed to have known her, and she will definitely be missed by everyone who knew her.

So sorry for your loss. Mrs. Wagner was a beautiful lady and will be missed. I always remember her showing up for all the school functions when I was at SK. I went to school with Steve and Mr. Wagner was my mailman for many years. Now they can all unite in Heaven.

Randall and Patsy Wagner were wonderful people! I always looked forward to seeing them at the various Simon Kenton events. Mrs. Wagner taught one of my sons at Kenton Elementary and was a wonderful teacher.
