Randall Browning Obituary
Randall A. Browning "Randy", 68, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2016, at his residence in Union, KY. Randy worked as a salesman in the food and beverage industry for many years. He was a member of St. Timothy Parish, lifetime member of VFW Post 7570 (Duwell), decorated Marine Veteran who served in the Vietnam War receiving multiple honors including: The Navy Cross, multiple Purple Hearts, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Presidential Unit Citation and a Rifle Marksman Badge. He was preceded in death by his father Joseph K. Browning. Survivors include his wife Christine Browning (nee Riegler) of Union KY, daughter Josie (Brian) Browning Haney of Lebanon, OH, daughter Lizzie (Wes) Anderson of Burlington, KY, cousin Karen Browning of Cold Spring, aunt and uncle William and Peggy Browning of Falmouth, KY and grandchildren Emma Claire Haney and Oliver Wyatt Haney, and many loving family members. Visitation will be held Monday September 19, 2016 from 5pm to 8pm at Linnemann Funeral Homes in Burlington, KY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at 10am at St. Timothy Church in Union, KY. Memorials may be made to support veterans with PTSD and their families,: UC Health Stress Center, University of Cincinnati, 260 Stetson Street, Cincinnati, OH 45219. Online condolences can be sent at

I was sorry to hear of Randy's passing. He and I had some crazy times during the days after our war. He was a hero and a brother in arms. This country doesn't have a lot of men of his caliber anymore.
I was a year younger and just going into the Army when he came home the last time. I read his Navy Cross citation and was amazed by what he had lived through. He and I had gone seperate ways ,but I always thought of him as a friend.
