I grew up down the street from the Tibbs family. Julie was my first friend. I was in awe of her older siblings. I first met Steve when he pulled up on his motorcycle. I thought he was so cool! He had long, dark, curly hair and I thought he was handsome. He gave me a ride on his bike after instructing me on how to hold on, lean in on curves and to keep my legs away from the exhaust. Of course I wasn't listening. I was nervous! I burned my leg. I didn't tell him. I cherished that wound. Steve was my first crush. I will always have fond memories of him. RIP Steve.
