Theodore DuPONT Obituary
Theodore F. DuPont, 88, of Edgewood, Kentucky passed away on June 8, 2016 at his residence. Ted was born April 10, 1928 in Dayton, KY to Theodore A. DuPont and Helen Wrobleski DuPont. Ted was the owner/operator and founder of DuPont Plumbing, a member of St. Thomas Church, the former Mayor of Dayton, Ky & the co-owner of Riverside 4 boat harbor. Ted was also the co-founder of the Northern Kentucky Master Plumbers Association where he was a lifetime member and past president. He loved camping, fishing, hunting, horseshoes, and playing the harmonica. Ted's passion in his later years was volunteering at the Holy Spirit Center in Norwood, Ohio. Ted was also a Korean War Army Veteran. He is survived by his wife, Betty (Rottner) DuPont, sons, Ted DuPont, Jr., Curt (Debbie) DuPont, Tom (Beth) DuPont, Ralph DuPont, and Chris (Julie) DuPont, daughters, Lynne (Mike) Brueggen, Mitzi (Tim) Merman, Renee (Jay) Krebs, Pinky (Ben) Dressman, Annette (Dean) Ganslein, brothers, Bob DuPont & Charlie DuPont, a sister, Ruth Beck, and 24 grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Sunday, June 12, 2016 at St. Thomas School Cafeteria, 26 E. Villa Place, Fort Thomas, Kentucky. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am Monday, June 13, 2016, at St. Thomas Church, Fort Thomas, with Rev. Albert Ruschman and Fr. John Seiler officiating. Burial will take place in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas, Kentucky. Memorials are suggested to the Holy Spirit Center, 5440 Moeller Ave., Norwood, Ohio 45212. Dear Dupont Family
There is one memory I will never forget which demonstrated the type of man your Dad was.
It was Christmas Eve 1982, the day of my Dad's funeral and my mom's house on Barrett Drive was over flowing with relatives from out of town. It was about 70 degrees, unseasonable warm, when the main drainage pipe collapsed and backed up with the over use of all the people staying at our house trying to get ready for his funeral.
It was total chaos, not only were we grieving my Father's passing, especially burying him on Christmas Eve, but now this: our own little disaster! In a panic we called our plumber Ted Dupont. Not only did he and his sons come to our rescue on Christmas Eve but he did so in spirit of gratitude. You see, my father was Dr. Anthony Giglia (OB/GYN) and as Ted said, "He delivered most of my children at all hours of the night and day and I feel like this is payback". God love Ted, our family will never forget that merciful and loving jester- what plumber with his sons in tow would come on Christmas Eve to save the day ...Ted Dupont !
