Papa use to sit us girls on his lap when we little and sing this song for us after he yelled, "Thelma parch those girls some peanuts!"
Two little children a girl and a boy sat by the ole church door. The little girls feet were as brown as the curl that fell on the dress that she wore..Why dont you go home to your Mother I said and this was the maidens reply.. I have no Mama no Daddy no home, cause Mama and Daddy they died. My Daddy was a sea captain long long ago , we waited all night on the shore.. we waited and waited and waited and waited but Daddy didnt come home no more...
Papa stopped singing this song to us as we grew older and after my mother(Janice, his daughter) died. He said this song was too sad and he didnt want us to cry.
But we loved hearing him sing this song to us...
We love you Papa ,
Your Girls..

To say "Papa" was an inspiration to me is truly an understatement. As a young boy I had the honor of learning how to hunt, fish, swim and to always add a faction when exaggerating. He also taught me how the shoot the pistol and several different shotguns but most of all he taught me how to be a man. I will continue to strive towards being the man he wanted me to become. I will obviously miss my “Papa” but he will always be in my mind, heart and soul. Love always, your grandson, cs.

Well we all love you Papa. I think I am the luckiest man on earth because I was you "project son" you tried to teach me every thing you know and you and I both know I would have to live ten life time to learn everything when I last visited you, you made me promos you I would keep the family together this is some thing I will try to do forever. With a family that was taught by you this will be easy to do. I use to have best papa memories but now all of my memories of you are my best. I'm going to sign out with this "I am an old caballero. From Rio Grand Didgeridoo. I met up with a fine senuretaaa. Not too much fattaa not too much leanaaa. I held her a while in an Argentine style I swept her right off of her feeter. She told me she was so lonely so I climbed up her balk'o'ie and under her sell I heard someone yell get a way from here you big bologna." An Abe Saba original.
For all of the family I am having a celabration of life on the 15th of April "Papa's birthday" this is the one wish he ask from me I hope to see everyone for crawfish music and fun
I Love you

I love you Papa and will miss you dearly. I will always remember the time I almost stepped on that blue runner snake and you came outside with your pistol and shot it. I will also remember all the times I slept by your house and ate breakfast with you and Granny. We would sit outside for hours and just listen to the birds and everything else. I will always have wonderful memories of you and what you used to do with me and the rest of the family. I look up to you and think that you are the most wonderful man in the whole wide world. You will be missed by us all. I love you.

My Papa was my inspiration in life and made me feel so safe. As far as I can think back he has been involved in my life and my sisters lives. When I was very little he told me while sitting on the porch on Majestic Oak Drive that I could have and do anything I wanted to do in life. He said that life was a like a big river full of all kinds of fish, but the fish dont jump in your lap you have to perpare yourself and go fish for them. He told me how to do this, through education and ambition and dont let anyone tell you that you cant do it or have what you want. So, I did just that. I have done all things I wanted to do , even when my own father told me I could not do some of them. I would think back at what Papa said to me and did it it anyway! I learned how to live my life by the way he lived his and how he raised my Mother. All that know my mother Janice Saba knows she beat all odds, he taught her to live like this. The only thing I have not learned to do from him was how to live my life without him in it. How to live without him just talking to me ,laughing with me, or just to have him sing a song to me without me even asking him to. Or to just sit around and snuggle with him. He always would tell me and my sisters " Papa is not going anywhere , I am going to live a long time....he told me Wednesday before he died that he would take care of me and my sisters as long as he had too and that he loved me a $1.75 and that was not cheap!
I will miss you more than I ever knew, but I will continue to do all that you taught me and I will try very hard not to cry ...
