Almeria Heard Obituary

HEARD Almeria ""Dolly'' Jasmine Heard entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 24, 2006 at her residence. She was 92 years old, born on March 7, 1914 in Vacherie, LA to the late August and Clothilda G. Jasmine and was a lifelong resident of New Orleans where she was a homemaker. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Heard. Mother of Calvin Heard of Tyler, TX, Delores White, Gloria Brown, Jeanette Alexander, Cynthia Griffin, Sandra, Linda and Gwendolyn Heard, the late Lillie Mae Griffin, Carrie Robiskie, Howard, Joseph and Wardell Heard. Sister of August Jasmine. Mother-in-law of Viola Hall, Geraldine Heard and Davis Alexander. Also survived by a devoted niece Geraldine White, 31 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, 21 great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, pastor, officers and members of Asia Baptist and all neighboring churches, employees of N.O. Public School Board, Housing Authority of New Orleans (HANO), LSU Medical Center, Comeaux Furniture Appliances and Sewerage and Water Board are invited to attend the funeral. A service will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2006 at 10:00 AM at Asia Baptist Church, 1400 Sere Street, Rev. Zabadee Bridges, officiating. Interment Providence Mem. Park. Visitation 8:00 AM at the church. CHARBONNET-LABAT, Directors, 581-4411.
