Alton Joseph Sarrazin Sr.

Alton Joseph Sarrazin, Sr., was called home on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at the age of 88. He was a 1954 graduate of Walter L. Cohen High School. Mr. Sarrazin worked in construction as a master plasterer until his retirement. Son of the late Alton A. Sarrazin and Yvonne Clement Sarrazin Wright. Husband of the late Flora Barre' Sarrazin. Father of Pamela Sarrazin Stern (Eric), Patrice Sarrazin Davenport and Alton J Sarrazin Jr. (Cassandra). Brother of Merita Sarrazin Miller (William), Sherrye Hamilton Smith, the late Arthur Anthony Sarrazin, Sr. (Alice). Grandfather of Kaylen Stern Coleman (Chris), Kia Michael Stern (Charles), Diamond Vernel Davenport, Arione Latrice Dunn, A'sha Jahni Sarrazin and Alton J. Sarrazin, III. Great grandfather of Zora Paige Coleman, Jeremy Dallas Haw, Jillian Ann Haw, Joshua Charles Haw, Judah Benjamin Haw and Jaggar Haw. Brother-in-law of the late Zelda Barre Green (Jerome), Raven Barre Douglas and Sherry Barre' Cole (Cornell). Also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. A Celebration service honoring the life and legacy of the late Alton J. Sarrazin, Sr., will be held in the Chapel of Charbonnet Labat Glapion Funeral Home, 1615 St. Philip Street, New Orleans, LA 70116 on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 10 am.
