Gerry and Jeannie, my father admired your father. I like to think that they are friends in heaven. It was good to see both of you last week. Let's pray in the belief that we will all be reunited some day.

April 22, 2015

Jeannie, remember that day many years ago when I came into your house and saw that pic of your Mom and Dad on the table and realized I knew your dad. We met for the first time at that same Schwegmann on Veterans, with Tong Ha Choi Yenari, the pharmacist at the store. Our friendship carried on to I.L.Lyons where I worked for many years, then 30 years ago you and I became friends and through the years I heard your stories about your dad. We just talked about him last week. He's just moved on to the next chapter in his extraordinary life and will still be watching out for his baby girl. Your memories will never fade. Love you and will keep you in my prayers. Mellanie Miller

Jeannie & Gerry
I was deeply saddened when I read your Dad's death notice. He was truly one of the nicest and most interesting people I ever knew. I remember him coming to my house and keeping us laughing with my mother and father. In later years I would run into him in Lakeside Mall and walk with him. He will certainly be missed by many people who felt the same way about him as I did. God bless your family.

Jeannie and Gerry,
So sorry for your loss.
The pictures of your dad and mom are precious. We will Miss Uncle Roy so much. He was always such a joy to be around. You were both blessed to have him as a father for so many years.

April 20, 2015

What a shock to hear of Roy's passing. I worked with Roy at Eli Lilly for over ten years, and I can honesty say, I have never meet a nicer person before or since. Everyone who knew Roy loved him. He was always so upbeat and smiling, and had wonderful stories to tell. I have thought of him so many times over the years and so sorry to hear of his passing.

"To know him was to love him," and "They broke the mold" weren't just cliches when applied to Roy. He was the real thing. We liked him right away when we first met him five or six years ago at the Jefferson Orleans North. He was full of good humor and an uplifting person. Anyone lucky enough to sit at his table knows that.
And very kind. Twice he gave us stuffed artichokes he himself made. And other times it was hogs head cheese he brought to the dances. There will never be another Roy. With deepest sympathy, Bob and Elvira Ussery
