Anthony Lewis entered eternal rest on November 19, 2023, in New Orleans, LA at the age of 71. Anthony Lewis, son of Robert Dumas and Alice Pursley Lewis, was born on February 23, 1952. Anthony attended New Orleans Public schools and was an employee at the Pelham Hotel. He loved cooking, dancing, joking, and spending time with his family. He leaves to cherish his memories his daughter; Alyndra Lewis; godchild; Ronald Smith, sister; Vivan Brown (Ernest), sister-in-law; Betty Lewis, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Anthony is proceeded in death by his parents Alice Pursley Lewis and Robert Dumas; grandson; David Frezel, sisters; Luella Johnson, Elaine Quinn Brown, Hattie Mae Grant, Gloria Smith, brother; Wardell Lewis, brother-in-law; Leo Grant; nephew; James Lewis, and nieces Karen Lewis, Zelinda Lewis, and Valda Hamilton. Family and friends are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration on Saturday December 2, 2023, for 10:00 a.m. at St. Stephens Baptist Church, 1738 LB Landry Ave, New Orleans, LA. 70114. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Pastor Norman Francis, officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 4000 Norman Mayer Ave, New Orleans, LA., 70122.
