I fondly remember dr. Scarfino as a wonderfully kind man and an excellent physician. I was a Hotel Dieu School of Nursing student from 1960 to 63 and then worked there for about three years after graduation. We crossed paths during the course of a workday or night.Dr. Scardino was outstanding in every way and one of my favorite physicians, always dedicated, allowing time to teach if asked for information, humble and quiet, but kind beyond words. His handwriting, or rather printing, in his medical chart was beautiful! A joy to read, it was perfect, neat and a near work of art. It’s easy to say God shone through him and he was one of a kind. Our Divine Physician has undoubtedly added Dr. Scardino to His heavenly staff.

Dear Marsha, Susan, Peggy, and family:
What a gentleman and kind person your dad was. I worked with him for many years at Algiers General Hospital, and always heard his name and kind words about him throughout the medical community. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Since first meeting Dr. Scardino many years ago through his daughter, Susan, what I first noticed was his smile! Such a kind and gentle man. Over the years , I admired his devotion to his loving wife and what a loving Father he was to his daughters! Such a selfless man. His passing is a lost for his family and friends, but now he is reunited with his loving wife of 66 years! I hope his family take comfort in knowing that! He and his family are in my prayers!
Love, Sharon

Bubby was a fine man, always was soft spoken and always took care of me and my sidings when we needed a doctor even if it was spur of the moment he attended to us. He is now in heaven with the love of his life Audie. God bless his amazing family. Sending our Love. Eileen & Tommy Laizer
