Antoinette Aubry Obituary

Antoinette Marie Aubry, Ph.D., administrator, clinician, educator and researcher, entered her eternal rest Thursday, September 14, 2023. She was 68 years old. Beloved daughter of the late Dr. Alfred J. Aubry, Sr. and Doris Ann Miller Aubry. Devoted mother of Granville George Guillory and Blair Boyer Guillory. Survived by her siblings Alfred, Jr., Michael, Angela and Eric (Jeanine), aunt Sharon Bernard Miller of Detroit, MI, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and colleagues. Dr. Aubry was born in Nashville, TN and moved to New Orleans, LA as a child. She went to St. Vincent de Paul Elementary in Nashville, TN and completed St. Raymond Elementary in New Orleans, LA. For high school, she graduated from St. Mary's Academy in New Orleans, Class of 1973. After high school, she received a B.A. in Political Science/Sociology from Xavier University of Louisiana. In preparation for the field of Social Work, she attended Tulane University and transferred to Southern University in New Orleans focusing on clinical practice receiving an MSW. She became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Board Approved Clinical Supervisor. Later, she received a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Jackson State University. Her career as a Social Work clinician began with child protective services and transitioned into school social work services. She served as an administrator with New Orleans Public Schools, DHH/Office of Addictive Disorders and DHH/Office of Behavioral Health. As an educator, she was an adjunct instructor at Southern University in New Orleans and Phillips County Community College in Arkansas. Her research was affiliated with education, leadership, behavioral health and programs connected to academic settings. She served on several boards throughout her career. She was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Order of the Eastern Star, National Association of Social Workers, American Educational Research Association, and Sigma Alpha Pi National Honor Society. Family, friends, and colleagues are welcomed to attend A Mass of Christian Burial and Celebration of Her Life on Monday, September 25, 2023, at 10 a.m., at St. Raymond and St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 2916 Paris Ave., 70119. Visitation and reflection will be held at 9 a.m. Officiating Pastor: Rev. Stanley K. Ihuoma, S.S.J. Interment: Mt. Olivet Mausoleum. It was a privilege to know and work along side of Antoinette as a social worker in the 80´s on Forshey St. in CPS. She was a friend, leader and team player who would help anyone in time of need. Antoinette was always full of life, fire and fun! She will be sorely missed. I send heart felt condolences to her family, friends a fellow colleagues.
