Arthur Borchgrevink Obituary

Arthur Valdemar Borchgrevink, III., passed away at home on Wednesday, February 17, 2021, at the age of 75. Beloved father Tammy Borchgrevink Dantin and Buffy Borchgrevink Odom. Grandfather of Misty Vercher (Ashley), Bradley Prevost (Rebecca), Jonathan Lee and Zachary Ratcliff. Great-grandfather of Alexus Brennan, Eric Brennan and Cole Prevost. Brother of Jon Moldovan and the late Patricia J. Russell. Son of the late Arthur Valdemar Borchgrevink, Jr., and Vivian Rogers Borchgrevink Moldovan. Uncle of Kim Marie Russell, Tony Russell (Denise), Becky McMillen, Jon Moldovan, Jr., and Megan M. Leccese (Joseph) Great-uncle of Katie Bellanger (Jason) and Katelyn Russell. Great-great-uncle of Layla Bellanger. Arthur is also survived by his former wife, Jackie Borchgrevink, and her son, George King. Arthur passed away due to a prolonged struggle with cancer. Arthur dealt with most experiences in life with strength and grace, his battle with cancer no different. He was a hardworking man. After graduating West Jefferson HS in 1964, Arthur went on to many things. A true entrepreneur, Arthur began his journey working to save for his soon to be adventure. Mechanics being his real soul, he opened "Arthur's Marine Service" and spent many days performing at his best, on multiple boats, motors and marine equipment. After years of servicing the New Orleans area, Arthur went on to do a number of things before finding his final niche as a General Contractor. Arthur's passions were fishing, hunting and anything to do with the paradise surrounding him. Known to many through his multiple recognitions and affiliations with a large number of organizations, Arthur was a well-loved man. He was outspoken and kind to all he met and created lifelong friendships with those who will never forget his generous heart. Arthur's favorite saying was, "Animals Get It!" Arthur was gifted in his ability to gain knowledge on anything animal related. He was a lover of animals and one to be called, "A Real Louisiana Sportsman". On his final day, he was surrounded by his family and close friends, who he adored more than anything else in the world. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 105 Bonnabel Blvd., Metairie, LA on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, starting at 10:30 AM, followed by a Memorial Mass at 12:00 PM.
