I have many fond memories of visiting with Ben and Joan when I brought communion to them from St. Matthew Church. We especially enjoyed discussing politics. So sorry that I was out of town for the funeral.

David, Danny and Mike-- Those of us who have been blessed to call you friends for all these years have heavy hearts at the hearing of this news. Your Dad was like a second father to an entire organization of young men, and he will always be recalled as being inspiring, friendly, and most of all encouraging. He not only remembered the details of our lives, but also those of our wives, family members--- just about everything and everyone seemed to be a source of great joy to him. Billy Graham once said words to the effect that a good father is among the most unsung, unheralded, unnoticed, and yet most important members of our society. Your beautiful family shows that in this way, your Dad was definitely Top tier.
