Bertrand Fos Obituary

Bertrand Anthony Fos Sr. (a.k.a Papa Bert) passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at the age of 71. He was the beloved father of Michelle Fos and Bertrand Fos Jr. (Tina). Son of the late Alexander and Alice Fos. Brother of Alexander Fos Jr. (Claudia). Proud grandfather of Gina Chadborn (Daniel), Dominick Centineo, Nicholas Fos, Elisha Tranchina, Jonathan Centineo and Jordan Fos. Great-grandfather of Alexander Chadborn and Talia Centineo. He is also survived and fondly remembered by his special and beloved cousin Betty Langley, his 5 nieces & nephews, along with many cousins and close friends. Bertrand was a native of New Orleans and a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish. He proudly served his country as a Specialist in the U.S. Army. Following his service, Bertrand enjoyed a long career as an Electrician with the IBEW Local 130, a proud business owner of N.S.C. since 1986 and a longtime member of N.E.C.A. Bertrand was well loved and will be deeply missed by his friends and family. He will be forever remembered as a loving and loyal father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, who loved his country and treasured his family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Thursday, November 5th from 10:00AM – 1:00PM, followed by a funeral service beginning at 1:00PM. Papa Bert,
It's hard to accept that you're gone because it still doesn't seem real, but I know you're in Heaven now. You will be missed more than you know. Thank you for always saving the day by getting rid of the viruses on mine and Jordan's laptops. Thank you for making my dad the man he is today. I will forever be grateful for having him in my life. I know you will still be with us during the holidays, but we will miss seeing your face and hearing your voice. Rest in peace, we love you!<3

Papa Bert was a great grandfather to me growing up. He will be greatly missed. Wish I could have made a few more trips down to Louisiana in recent years to see him and the rest of my family.

Pa Pa Bert, , I know you went to heaven just 4 days ago to be with Maw Maw Alice but I miss you already. I know we didn't see you everyday but it was the comfort that you were right next door. You have always helped us out when needed, no questions asked. You were always there for Jordan and that meant a lot to us. You had a very kind soul and as your Daughter in Law, I'm really going to miss that. You weren't just my Father in Law, you were also my kids Grandfather! And that will never change. Just want you to know that I will always take care of Lil Bert, I love him more than anything and I will never leave his side! You raised a Great Man! and I Love you for that. Love Always, Tina

PaPa Bert I miss you already, I know my heartache is just beginning I don't know how I am going to deal with not being able to go next door or call you for advice no matter what the question you always had the answer. I will try to be the person for my family and friends to come to for advice but will never fill your shoes. I will try my best to be the man you raised me to be and make you proud.
