Beulah Bright Booker

BOOKER Beulah Bright Booker, a former substitute teacher and retired employee of the Department of Health and Hospital, Office of Public Health, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, August 31, 2010. Devoted mother of Lavelle Booker, Jr., Tammy Booker Brown, Marlene and Gilbert Todd Booker. Adopted mother of Leola, Matron and Olden (Shelinda) McGinnis and the late Sylvia Ann, and Lisa. Daughter of the late Elmo Sr. and Rosie Bright. Sister of Elmo, Jr. (Rosemary), and Earl Bright, Ruben Spencer, Corinne (Emmett) Meggs, Gracie (Joe) Eskinde, Viola Bright, and Helen (Alfred) LaMark, and the late Joseph "Man" and Clarence Bright, Dorothy McGinnis, Bernadine Smith, and Odile Fallen. Niece of the late Maggie Wade. Also survived by 6 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Age 72 years, a native of New Orleans, La. and a resident of Gretna, La. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Sunrise Baptist Church of Gretna are invited to attend the funeral service at Davis Mortuary Service, 230 Monroe St., Gretna, La., on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at 10:00a.m. Rev. James Cheatteam officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named parlor. Interment: Restlawn Park and Mausoleum Avondale, La.
