Blinda Bates Numa

1947 - 2024

Blinda Bates Numa, age 77, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2024, surrounded by her family and the priest from St. Maria Goretti Church. Born on July 2, 1947, in New Orleans, LA, Blinda was the daughter of the late Lionel and Mary Bates. She was the devoted wife of Eddie B. Numa for 57 years and a loving mother to Trinell Numa Davis (Lyell Sr.) of Humble, TX; Terron David Numa (Kally) of Pasadena, TX; Tannon Michael Numa (Teyanna) of New Orleans, LA; and Mark Numa (Trina), whom she raised as her own, from Douglasville, GA. Blinda was a cherished grandmother to Trichelle McGee (Aaron), Travis, Tavion Numa, Lyell Jr., Trinity Davis, Isaiah, Illyssa Bias, Ti'sjai Robinson, Tannon Jr., Titan, and Trenton Numa. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Aaron III, Ace McGee, and Kanari Robinson. She is survived by her sister Sharon Ellis of Los Angeles, CA, and was preceded in death by her sister Rosalind Landry. Blinda was a graduate of Joseph S. Clark High School, class of 1965. She had a distinguished career with Xavier University, Louise S. Davis Developmental Center, and Head Start of New Orleans. Her memory will be cherished by her husband Eddie Numa; her sister Sharon Ellis; her aunt Francis Leon of Los Angeles, CA; and her extended family, including sister-in-laws Naomi Robinson of Los Angeles, CA, and Hemenese Dunn of New Orleans, LA; brother-in-laws Noe Numa (Mary) of Las Vegas, NV, Larry Numa Sr. (Chikeeta) of Atoka, TN, and Claude Numa Sr. of Humble, TX; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of beloved relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 7300 Crowder Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70127, on Friday, September 6, 2024, for 10:30 a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Rev.
