Brandon Fontenelle Obituary

Brandon Paul Fontenelle , born June 18, 1993, entered into God's Heavenly Kingdom on October 5, 2017, at the young age of 24. He leaves behind loving parents Melissa Dupre Pilgrim and Jason Pilgrim. Also in mourning, Eric Fontenelle Sr., brothers Brett McSpadden and Eric Fontenelle Jr, and sisters Sarah Diveley, Rebekah Connell, and Jessica Lovejoy. He was survived and greatly loved by grandmother Evelyn Gullo, along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins. From a young age, Brandon's big beautiful smile and contagious laughter brightened many lives. Born with a song in his heart, he enjoyed singing and playing beautiful music for anyone who would listen. Brandon's big heart and gentle spirit will be sorely missed. Although gone too soon, his love for family and friends, zest for life, and unique sense of humor, will live on in our hearts forever. In his words... "Life is too short. Seize the day and don't live in the past." -B. Family and friends are invited to attend the services at D.T. Williams Funeral Home, 67525 Hwy 41, Pearl River, Louisiana 70452 on Tuesday, October 17th. Immediate family (9:00am-10:00am). All welcome (10:00am-12:00pm). Services to follow.

I originally met Brandon in gifted class shortly after Hurricane Katrina, and we've remained close ever since. True to our origins, we were both intelligent mixed with a little bit of troublemaking which didn't always make for the best combo lol!

In our long-lasting friendship we went through many growing up experiences together. From chasing girls to playing in retention ponds and jamming on instruments, we had a lot of great times. We remained close as we got older, although I was in college turning my life around and began to act more like a guide for him. Brandon went through a ton of changes - but one thing that remained constant was his huge heart. Whether it was literally biking 3 miles with a gas can to save me from embarrassment when I was on a first date at 15, or driving all the way from Waggaman to check on me after my surgery when I was 25, B would do anything for me. And I would too. This is why I put my relationdhip down as 'brother'. Although we're noy related, we shared a bond that was like family. The last time I had hung out with B (about a week before he died) I noticed he had taken to calling me "Big Brudda" and I kinda liked the nickname lol! Brandon impacted my life in ways I'll never forget and always cherish. Rest in Peace, bro. Never stop singing.

Oh yeah, and just like all those other times you got in a jam I'm waiting for you to call me! Anytime you wanna talk bro-I'm listening

B, I'm not sure where to even start to be honest... I remember when you & Eric first moved to Slidell, middle school days seem like yesterday although it's been atleast 10 years. You always kept in touch no matter the distance or time. You were a person who could make anyone smile, especially me all my memories of you are filled with nothing but laughter and love. I will forever value the friendship we did have. We miss you so much and love you forever!

Brandon you don't remember me but I so remember you when you were a wee little guy singing in the living room of your mom's house. You will be missed by more than you can imagine, even by your cousin that you never really knew. Brandon its still so hard to believe that your gone. You are such a sweet soul. You have the voice of an angel. And a huge heart! It was an honor to have Eric and you live in my home when your parents needed the help from the hurricane. You were definitely taken too soon but I'm sure God has plans for you.
