Brenda Bertaut Rogge

ROGGE Brenda Bertaut Rogge, born August 16, 1943, New Orleans, LA., died January 18, 2009, Covington, LA. She was a resident of Metairie, LA. for 59 years and Abita Springs, LA. for 6 years. Mrs. Rogge is preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Rogge, her father, Frederick M. Bertaut, Jr., son of Frederick M. Bertaut, Sr. and Alice Folse Bertaut and her mother, Ivy T. Breaux, daughter of Louis E. Breaux, Sr. and Carmelite D'Aunoy Breaux. She is survived by her husband, Roy of 39 years, her daughter, Robyne, her son, Adam, daughter-in-law, Susan Muller Rogge and grandchildren, Ella and Olivia. She is also survived by sisters, Ivy M. Bertaut, Carmelite Bertaut Wellman, nieces, nephews and many close cousins. Mrs. Rogge was an elementary school teacher in the Jefferson Parish Public School System for 33 years. All of those years were served at Ella Dolhonde Elementary School in Metairie. Mrs. Rogge was honored to be selected Teacher Of The Year at Ella Dolhonde in 1988. She spent much of her retirement years compiling a family history and writing numerous articles which were published in the journal of the Louisiana Genealogical and Historical Society. Visitation will be at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA, on Thursday, January 22, 2009 from 10:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M., followed by the burial service at Lake Lawn Park.
