Dr. Brian Richard O'Callaghan

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Brian Richard O' Callaghan, PhD, on Wednesday, March 2, 2022. Dr. O'Callaghan was born on October 9, 1944. Dr. O'Callaghan began his educational journey at St. Anthony of Padua elementary school, then proceeded to Jesuit High School. He graduated from Loyola University with a B.S. degree, Florida State University with a Masters degree, and Louisiana State University with a doctorate in mathematics. He spent many years teaching at Metairie Park Country Day School and at Southeastern Louisiana University. Dr. O'Callaghan was devoted to his West Highland White Terriers, for all of his adult life, having raised many Grand Champions. His pups were the light of his life. He was the companion of the late Mark Avery Smith, son of the late Richard William O'Callaghan and Jean Erichson O'Callaghan, brother of Sandra O. Goff (the late "Sonny") and Kathleen Del Rio (Ralph), uncle of Ray Rehage (Susan), Nathan Del Rio (Heather), Ross Del Rio (Julia), Lori Rehage (Eric), and the late Stephen M. Rehage. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation and Funeral Service at L.A. Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home, 2607 Williams Blvd., Kenner, LA on Friday, March 11, 2022. Visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Interment to immediately follow in Lakelawn Park Cemetery, New Orleans, LA.
