Brian Steger Obituary

Brian Albert Steger of Metairie, Louisiana passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 from complications following an accident. Born in New Orleans, Brian was 62. He is survived by his son Jason Albert Steger (Sarah) and his greatest joy, grandson Miles Steger. He is also survived by his son Blake Steger, his brother Keith R. Steger (Sally), nephews Nicholas and Christopher, cousin Larry Escudier (Bette) and a number of other cousins and their children. He was preceded in death by his parents Roy Albert Steger and Rita Licciardi Steger. Brian was a graduate of Brother Martin High School and Southeastern Louisiana University where he excelled in sports and was president of PKT/KDT fraternity. Brian was a quintessential New Orleanian with a deep love for the city he lived and worked in all of his life. May he forever rest in peace." A good friend once told me, "Your friends are your family." This holds true as Brian was a huge part of our lives for the past 12+ yrs. He touched our lives with his very being. We had a lot of good times and laughs that we will forever cherish. We surely will miss him (especially w/ football season coming up), but we are comforted knowing that he is at peace now. God bless you, Steger Bear. Our sincere condolences go out to Jason and his entire family for their loss. It is a huge loss.

I will miss you my friend. You were a sales radio legend and your insight and lust for life was unmatched. Always bent over backwards to help anyone and never asked for anything in return. I truly had some of my best times in radio with you. CHEERS to your life. RIP and Jazz Fest toast to you is in order.

Although I hadn't seen you since SLU days back in the early 70's, I was so glad to be reconnected with you via FB. You were always a cherished (and crazy) friend back in those days. Sounds like you hadn't changed a bit. Jason was lucky to have you as a father, as we all were to call you a friend. Say hi to my husband Steve in Heaven. You guys would get along great. Heavenly rest... Your old friend Kay

I will always remember Brian at his Aunt Dot's house being fed popcorn by his cousin Linda, exspecially when she shoved a handfull down his mouth and he erupted like a volcano. It may still be the hardest we all ever laughed. Miss ya buddy. Heaven just got to be a happier place....your pal, glenn menish
