Bridget Meitin Obituary

Bridget Jernigan Meitin passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, March 27, 2022 at the age of 61. She was the cherished wife of Charles Meitin. Daughter of the late Teddy Jernigan and Betty Orlinger Jernigan. Loving sister of Teddy Michael Jernigan (Judy) and Dawn Lynn Hewitt (Raymond). Step-mother of Carissa Cadman. Proud Mawmaw B of Jase Cadman, Lola Cadman and the late Christopher Cadman. Aunt of Stacy Lynn Hanzo, Teddy Joseph Jernigan and April Cuykendal. Great aunt of Abbigail Burr. She is also survived and fondly remembered by many relatives, friends and her dear pets. Bridget was born in New Orleans, LA and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish where she was an avid pet lover and a hardcore New Orleans Saints fan. She loved the Christmas and Thanksgiving season and cooking for large settings. Her holiday dinner tables were always cheerful and decorative. She never liked crowds and always screamed for other drivers to get out of her way. Although she wasn't much for parades or beer, she thoroughly enjoyed king cakes, crawfish and was a known Coke Zero'holic. Bridget truly enjoyed life through her amazing cooking skills and the massive amount of beauty products and kitchen implements she accumulated over the years. She found pleasure in the details of everyday life and cared deeply for others. Bridget was well loved and will always be remembered for her caring and loving spirit. She will be deeply missed by us all. A private celebration was held in Bridget's memory. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in the memory of Bridget to Take Paws Animal Rescue at www.takepaws-rescue.org or the Louisiana SPCA at www.louisianaspca.org
