In April, 2000, while on vacation, we walked the Garden District and met Bryan. He graciously invited us into his home and, while demonstrating his antique music box, asked my wife for a dance. What a "Gentleman".

Dear Bell family,
It was such an honor to know Mr. Bell. I served on a committee with him during the 1980's and valued his insights, integrity, good humor, and the pride he had in his family. He was a fine gentleman, and despite his many accomplishments, remained humble, always reaching out to others. I will cherish the memories of Bryan.

Bryan was a fine Christian and I was priviledged to have known him. I look forward to spending eternity with him. I was sorry to have missed the memorial service, but I was down with the flu.

My mother, Mrs. Bertha Johnson, worked for Mr. Bell in the 50's and 60's at Tasso. My sister and I fondly remember his accordion playing visits when he dropped off dictation in the summer months. Upon our mother's passing, Mr. and Mrs. Bell were right there with kind words and a book recommendation ("Life After Life") that helped so much. Mr. Bell lived an exemplary life, rich in accomplishment and love for his fellow man. He was truly one in a million. My thoughts and prayers are with the Bell family.

Bryan Bell embodies all that is good in mankind....Accomplished yet humble; Generous with his wonderful spirit; Wordly but always accessible; His bright smile always made you feel welcome and special. He is a shining example for each of us on how we should lead our lives: Faith, Family, Community....The Hardy family will always remember the countless acts of kindness offered by this most special man and his family. I suspect he is at this moment gathering a crowd in heaven to display a few magic tricks....We shall miss him dearly....May God bless him and keep his family warm with the many cherished memories.

A true gentlemen, probably the most sincere, yet humble man, that I have had the privilege to know. Truly an honor to have known Bryan.

Please accept my sympathy on Mr. Bell's passing. I am one of the many--I am sure--tour guides who had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Bell during my Garden District tours. Whenever he saw a group of us go by, he always came out and talked to us, even inviting us into your back yard. On a couple of occasions, we were actually invited inside your beautiful home! He embodied the spirit of gracious Southern hospitalilty that makes New Orleans unique. I know my guests would be saddened to learn of the passing of this kind man. The Garden District won't seem the same without his presence.

My deepest condolences in the passing of your beloved husband, dad, grand-dad. Although, I've never met Mr. Bell literally, I had met him through the conversation of Marguerite Dunn. May Jesus draw you into His arms of comfort & peace during your time of loss.

Bryan was a dear friend, mentor and major inspiration in my life. He has passed on a legacy of patience, kindness, encouragement, personal responsibility, and servant leadership to me and to many others that I know. I will miss him very much but rejoice in the life he demonstrated while among us and rest assured that he is now living in the joyful presence of the Lord.
