Carlos Dudley "Moon" Piper, age 86, passed away peacefully at home on November 6, 2021. Carlos leaves special memories to cherish with his wife of over 42 years, Jill Poumaroux Piper. Survived by his children, Gayle P. Britz (Tony), Gregory P. Piper (Lauren), Theresa A. Piper, Mark F. Piper (Carla), Scott C. Dugas (Mary), and Christian P. Dugas; his grandchildren, Melody, John(Katy), Christine, Gregory, Nicholas, Carley, Chloe, Josie, Paulo, Julia, Joshua, Victoria; his great grandchildren, Liam, Delilah, Bart, Lily, and Axel. Also survived by his brother Robert E. Piper(Barbara) and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick S. Piper and Lena Broussard Piper and his brother Marshall Piper. Carlos retired in 1990 after 37 years of service as a Computer Programmer/Systems Analyst for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He then went to work part time for several years as a course ranger at City Park Golf Course and Chateau Estates Country Club. He was an avid golfer, a founding member of Greencrest Golf Club which he was an active member in for many years, enjoyed playing softball and was inducted into the Greater New Orleans Athletic League Softball Hall of Fame in 1990. He also refereed boys and girls high school basketball in the greater New Orleans area for 38 years. He was a graduate of St. Aloysius High School class of 53 and a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. The family would like to offer their gratitude to all the compassionate caregivers with Notre Dame Home Hospice and Home Health. As Carlos enters into eternal rest he will be dearly and lovingly missed by his family and friends. Services will be private. L. A. Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. carlos aand i joined green crest golf about the same time in early 1971. i enjoyed and play golf with carlos many times over the years. he was a fine an gracious gentleman i, as many other, will miss him.

On behalf of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart Alumni Association and Brother Martin High School, I offer our prayers and condolences. We will say a Mass in his memory. Father of all, we pray to you for Moon, all those we love but see no longer. Grant to them eternal rest. Let light perpetual shine upon them.
