Sandra, I don't know if you'll ever see this but I've searched and no longer have your email address. I just saw your most recent message and want to tell you how deeply touched I was. Yes, I loved Carol more than words can express and wrote her obituary the day after she passed. It helped me through that day. I just began a book about our life story and the ways in which I've managed to encompass the empty space that used to have her physical presence. I'm hoping it will help others. I'm so grateful that I feel her presence with me always. Blessings on you in every way. You are an amazing person to reach out as you did. Thank you so much for thinking about me during this time. How wonderful of you. My email address is [email protected] if you would like to have it.

I wrote in Carol's guestbook on May 24, 2017. I was looking for an obituary of someone I knew and came across Carol's, a woman I never met. I found Carol's obituary profoundly moving. No, I never had the honor to meet Carol Herbert, obviously a very kind, unselfish, well thought of and talented human being. I wish I had. What an interesting life! Carol's obituary read like a love letter written by someone who adored her and would forever miss her. I think that person was Carol's beloved spouse, Linda Lee, or she was the light behind the caring tribute to an extraordinary person. When I posted in Carol's guestbook, I included my email address and Linda Lee emailed a thank you, saying said she would pay my action forward. I'm sure she has. She too, is an amazing human being. I don't meet many special people that share gratitude by paying it forward. Linda, I've thought of you many times over the years, wishing you eventual peace and happiness. You and Carol were so fortunate to find and love each other. I hope that love surrounds you every day. I will give a donation to Harry Chapin in celebration of you and Carol.

Linda, I am deeply sorry for your loss. I think you probably wrote or helped write Carol's obituary. It's obvious to someone that doesn't even know you, you loved Carol very much. Carol brought life into everything she did, and taught me the right way to eat cold cuts, too. You two shared a love that most of us only dream of, and to be around the two of you was to feel that joy. Much love to you ❤❤❤.

Few can say that they have shared a love as strong as you and Carol. We use the furniture and shelves Carol made for us every day and particularly the fabulous bed so of course we think of her after every peaceful night's sleep. Thank you for letting us know. Our sincere condolences. Laura & Richard
