Caroline Meade Aguzin

Caroline Meade Aguzin, 92, of Diamondhead, MS, died peacefully at Gulfport Memorial Hospital on Monday, April 3, 2017. She was a native of New Orleans and moved to Waveland, MS, in 1963, where she resided until Hurricane Katrina. She was preceded in death by her husband, August "Gus" Aguzin, and is survived by her four children: Rodney Aguzin of Diamondhead; Rebecca and husband Bob Lommel of Mansfield, TX; Susan and husband Don Caldwell of Lake Charles, LA; and Stephen Aguzin and wife Laarni of Bethesda, MD. She cherished her five grandchildren: Adam, Ryan, Mark, Jessica, Lindsey, and her five great-grandchildren. A devout Catholic, she was a member of Most Holy Trinity Parish in Pass Christian, MS. Caroline was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in New Orleans. After attending business school, she began a long and successful career as a secretary and office manager. Her professional life commenced with work at two different insurance companies followed by the War Assets Administration in New Orleans, the Burgess's office in Wilkinsburg, PA, St. Clare School in Waveland, and the South Mississippi Regional Center in Long Beach where she worked until retirement. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of the Rite of Christian Burial at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 8, 2017 in the J. Garic Schoen Chapel of JACOB SCHOEN & SON, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA. Visitation will be on Friday, April 7, 2017 from 5-8pm and again on Saturday, April 8, 2017 from 9:00 am until the time of the Mass.
