Carolyn Joy Moorman Alfortish

Carolyn Joy Moorman Alfortish passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at the age of 80. She was born in Yazoo City, MS and a resident of Metairie, LA. Loving mother of Stephen John Alfortish and Ann Alfortish Laurent (Todd). Grandmother of Stephanie Lopez Calvo (Patrick) and Alexander Stephen Alfortish. Great-grandmother of Connor Patrick Calvo, Mason Philip Calvo and Hayden James Calvo. Daughter of the late Evelyn Hoke Moorman and James "Bo" Moorman. Her career began with the Parish of Jefferson as an Administrative Assistant where she retired after 24 years. She then worked for the City of Kenner Mayor's Office as an Executive Coordinator for 5 years. She was a very dedicated, hardworking individual and truly passionate about her endeavors. Joy was a very kind, loving and selfless person to everyone she ever met. She always put the needs of others before her own. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She had a very strong faith and volunteered a lot of her time at her church. Although she will be dearly missed by all who knew her, Joy's family asks that she be remembered for the love and laughter she brought to everyone in her life. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service at L. A. Muhleisen and Son Funeral Home, 2607 Williams Blvd., Kenner, LA on Monday, October 14, 2024.
