Cassandra R. Williams, a lifelong resident of New Orleans, LA entered eternal rest at the age of 75, on Monday, September 19, 2022. Mrs. Williams was born on December 7, 1946 to Vanderbilt and Ethel Rodney. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, John Williams; five children, John V. Williams, Zina W. Barré, Girlean G. Williams, Jason I. Williams (Chounique) and Josh O. Williams (Sasha); seven grandchildren, Chantaé Barré, Benjamin Herbert, Jr., Roy Barré, Jr., Jianna Williams, John Williams, Jr., Jason Williams, Jr. and Joshua Williams; brother, Olia Rodney (Carolyn); special nephew, Rod Pichon and best friend, Sylvia Barnes. Also survived by many adored nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family; Pastor, officers and members of Genesis Missionary Baptist Church; Alumni of McDonough 35 Class of 1964, Southern University, A&M College Class of 1968 and Holy Redeemer School; Touro Infirmary LCMC Health; St. Maria Goretti Bingo Hall and One Shell Square are all invited to attend the funeral. A homegoing Celebration honoring the life and legacy of the late Mrs. Cassandra R. Williams will be held at Genesis Missionary Baptist Church, 1820 N. Robertson Street, New Orleans, LA 70116 on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 11 am. Interment Mount Olivet Cemetery, 4000 Norman Mayer Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70122. Visitation 10 am in the church.
