Catherine W. Martin

Catherine W. Martin entered into eternal rest at Carpenters House on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at the age of 79. She was a native of Matthews, LA and a resident of Gretna, LA. Catherine was owner of Cat's Coroner Grocery. Beloved wife of George A. Martin. Devoted mother of Lenard Pierce, Darrelyn J. (Robert) Bright, Cathy C. Johnson, and the late Ernest Johnson, Jr. Daughter of the late Woodrow Wilson and Carrie Chatman. Stepdaughter of the late Louis Chatman. Sister of Glorious (Rev. Mervin) Menina, also survived by 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, offices, and members of Regular Baptist Church, Hosanna Fellowship Church, Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Belle Chasse, LA and neighboring churches; employees of PPSB, JPSS, and OPSB are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Regular Baptist Church 901 5th St. Gretna, LA on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 10:00a.m. Rev. Dr. T A Hodge officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named church. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery –Avondale, LA.
