Cecil Piper Obituary
Oshkosh - Cecil "CJ" Junior Piper Age 85 passed away June 20, 2018 at his home surrounded by family & friends. Cecil was born June 1, 1933 the son of the late Cecil & Clara Belle. Cecil married Marion Neitzke August 9, 1952 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Berlin, WI. Cecil lived in the Berlin, Pickett and Oshkosh area all of his life. Cecil worked at Oshkosh B' Gosh and Winnebago Hwy Dept upon his early retirement Cecil was self employed. Cecil was a member of First English Church in Oshkosh, WI. Cecil was a man of many talents who enjoyed restoring old cars, Cushman scooters and Schwinn bikes. Cecil enjoyed working with his hands making wood carvings, creating figurines including life size animals along with painting. Cecil participated in car and toy shows for many years. Cecil's greatest passion was dancing with his wife his favorite dance was the polka. Cecil served on the Polka Hall of fame board for many years. Cecil is survived by his wife of 65 years Marion. Daughter Janice (Doug) Zellmer Oshkosh, WI. Son Dennis (Penny) Piper Neshkoro, WI. 5 grandchildren Jennifer Piper, Erik (Katie) Zellmer, Paul (Joann Hyler Son Justin) Piper, Kerri Piper, Mike Piper. 4 great grandchildren Zachary Zellmer, Katrina Perr, Jaida and Kaiden Piper. He is further survived by nieces and nephews, special niece Sandy "Toots" Londowski and many friends. Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, Brother Arden, Sister Dorothy, many nieces, nephews and great friends. Visitation will be held before the memorial service on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 from 10am-noon at First English Church in Oshkosh WI. First English is located at 1013 Minnesota St on corner of 10th St & Minnesota. Memorial service will be held at noon at First English. Pastor Tim Greenwald will be presiding. Cecil's family would like to thank Dr. Alzoubi and his staff along with the staff at Aurora Medical Center; Susie Fink; Aurora At home hospice especially Jessica and Jennifer. Special thanks to all of Cecil's friends who called, sent cards and visited. In Lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established at First English Lutheran Church in Cecil's name.

Dear Marian, I remember the smile, the dancing, the laugh, and the enjoyment all of us shared at the "Rainbow Valley Dutchmen" dances.

Danced so many times with Cecil and felt honored when he would ask me. Sorry to hear of his passing. No doubt he is dancing in heaven with so many other dancers who have left us. Marion, you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Marian, Janice, Dennis and family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with each of you for your loss of Cecil. He was a very special friend to Richard! I'm sure those 2 are dancing together again up in heaven...and providing jokes and laughs for all of the angels! We had many great times laughing and dancing around the state and especially in New Ulm at the BIG POLKA FEST. God Bless & keep in touch.

"Whad-ja-want?" was always my opening line whenever I'd call Cecil on the phone and Marion handed the phone over to the big guy. I think it stemmed from losing track of who called who about the latest Schwinn bike acquisition or an upcoming or past bike swap. So our calls always started out with a chuckle. Growing up going to the Tuesday night races at Leo's Speedway, I never dreamed as a boy, that the man I envied driving the water truck would someday be my friend. But that's what he became, my friend. Thank you for your many creative years Water Man.
