Charles Joseph "Chas" "Tudy" Griffin

1960 - 2024

Charles Joseph Griffin, affectionately known as "Chas" to his friends or "Tudy" to his family, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Ochsner Main Campus in Jefferson LA. Charles was born November 14, 1960, in New Orleans, LA to the union of the late Raymond Griffin, Sr. and Joyce Alexander. Charles was educated in the New Orleans school system where he graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. He furthered his education attending business school for Information Technology. Charles spent most of his career as an IT Professional working for numerous technology firms as well as a long tenure with Tenet Health Systems. He later decided to leave the corporate world to follow his passion for cooking. Charles went to culinary school and became a Chef. Charles was a Sous Chef at The Windsor Court Hotel before retiring in 2012. Charles was joined in Holy Matrimony to Rosalind Brooks Griffin and was a devoted bonus dad to Brandon and Alexander. Charles was an outgoing person who enjoyed working out, fishing, traveling, and cooking for his family. After a lengthy illness Charles realized this earth was not his home and departed it. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife, Rosalind Brooks Griffin, his two sons, Brandon Martin and Alexander Hamilton, his caring mother Joyce Alexander, one brother Darrell Alexander (Patrice), a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his stepfather Henry Alexander, Sr.; his brother Raymond Griffin, and his sisters, Winnie Morrison and Dione Linell Hardeman (Charles). Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Blessed Sacrament-St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 8321 Burthe St., New Orleans, LA 70118.
